Crisp detail, vibrant colour and built to last.
UV-printed outdoor signs use advanced direct-to-substrate printing technology to create sharp, durable graphics. The process cures ink instantly with UV light, locking colour directly onto the surface of the material. This produces a finish that is weatherproof, fade-resistant and ideal for exterior use.
At Benson Signs, we manufacture UV-printed panels for retail parks, schools, construction sites, stadiums and many other environments where clarity and durability matter. Every sign is printed in-house at our 50,000 sq ft Liverpool facility to ensure consistent quality and precision.

Panel thickness ranges from 3 mm foamex for temporary signage up to 5 mm ACM or 10 mm PVC for heavy-duty, long-term use.
We offer a range of mounting systems depending on location:
All fixings are chosen for strength and weather resistance.
Each UV-printed outdoor sign package includes:
Panels are delivered ready to install with pre-drilled holes or supplied rails. Smaller panels can be mounted directly to walls with screws or adhesive pads. Larger panels should be fixed with rails, trays or posts for stability. For hoarding projects or multi-panel installations, our nationwide team can handle the fitting process.
UV-printed outdoor signs are low maintenance. To keep them looking fresh:
UV printing cures ink instantly with ultraviolet light, bonding it directly to the panel surface. This means there’s no need for films or adhesives, and the print is more resistant to peeling, cracking or fading compared to traditional vinyl-applied graphics.
With the right material and protective finish, UV-printed signs typically last 5–7 years outdoors. On ACM or aluminium panels with anti-graffiti laminate, they can last 10 years or more, even in exposed environments.
No. UV inks are designed to resist fading, even in constant sunlight. The inks are lightfast and tested for long-term exterior use. For high-exposure sites such as coastal areas or south-facing walls, we recommend adding a UV-protective laminate for extra peace of mind.
We print directly onto rigid substrates like ACM, aluminium, foamex, acrylic and PVC. Each substrate is chosen based on the sign’s location and expected lifespan. ACM and aluminium are best for long-term external signs, while foamex is ideal for temporary campaigns.
Yes. Once printed, panels can be contour cut to match logos, arrows, lettering or custom designs. This makes UV-printed signs a flexible option for branded features or wayfinding graphics.
Signs can range from small plaques (300 x 300 mm) up to large panels of 3050 x 1500 mm. Oversized displays can also be tiled and joined seamlessly, making UV printing suitable for construction hoardings or building wraps.
Yes. With laminates such as anti-graffiti or abrasion-resistant coatings, panels can be protected against knocks, scratches and vandalism. This makes them ideal for stadiums, transport hubs and shopping centres.
Not always. UV-cured inks are tough enough for outdoor use on their own. However, we recommend lamination for signs in high-traffic or high-contact areas, as well as for floor panels or surfaces prone to graffiti.
Yes. The process uses fewer materials compared to vinyl overlays, as the ink bonds directly to the substrate. We also offer recyclable substrates such as aluminium and ACM, as well as PVC-free options when requested. Learn more on our sustainability and environmental practices page.
Yes. Our installation teams cover the whole UK, fitting everything from small wall panels to large-scale hoarding systems. All teams are IPAF, PASMA and CSCS trained for safe and professional installation.
