Key Features

Materials & Print Options

Your choice of material depends on the look you want and the level of durability you need.

Aluminium

Lightweight, strong and naturally weather-resistant. Perfect for long-term outdoor use.

Composite panels (ACM / Dibond)

Rigid yet lightweight, resistant to rust and ideal for cost-effective durability.

Timber

Hardwood or engineered timber provides a classic, heritage feel. It can be hand-painted or gilded with gold leaf for traditional pubs and period venues. Panels are sealed for outdoor use.

Acrylic

Sleek, modern and smooth. Often used in contemporary venues looking for a clean finish.

Printing is carried out using UV or latex technology. This keeps colours bold and crisp, even after months in the sun. Banners can be finished with stitched hems, reinforced eyelets, pole pockets or sleeves, depending on how you’ll mount them.

Size & Specification Guide

Standard panel sizes include:

600 x 800 mm

Compact and easy to read in narrow streets.

700 x 900 mm

A versatile size that works well for most pubs and cafés.

800 x 1000 mm

Larger, ideal for high-traffic locations or wide streets.

Signs can also be made to custom dimensions. Panels may be shaped or contour-cut to match your branding, such as a shield, oval, or logo outline. Brackets are fabricated to match the panel size so that the sign hangs safely and looks balanced.

Mounting & Fixing Options

Hanging bar signs are fixed to walls using strong brackets. We supply these in a choice of heritage scroll brackets for a traditional look or modern minimalist brackets for contemporary venues.

Brackets are manufactured from steel, primed and powder-coated to resist rust. Standard finishes are black, but any RAL colour can be supplied to coordinate with your building. For additional impact, we can add illumination with external trough lighting above the panel or integrated LEDs built directly into the sign.

Tell us about your building and location, and we’ll recommend the right bracket and fixing method.

  • Signs are built to withstand UK weather conditions year-round.
  • Illumination helps improve visibility at night and during low-light hours.
  • Panels can be updated or replaced without removing the bracket, making rebrands simple.
  • Brackets are powder-coated as standard but can be finished in custom colours.

Signs are supplied with brackets and fixings ready for installation. The panel is secured to the bracket using supplied hardware. For illuminated options, electrical connections should be made by a qualified installer. Installation can be handled by our nationwide team if required.

Keeping your sign looking fresh is simple. Wipe the panel regularly with a soft cloth to remove dust or marks. For illuminated signs, electrical components should be checked occasionally to ensure everything is working correctly. Painted or timber panels may need refinishing after several years to maintain their best appearance.

We also offer a scheduled maintenance service, including cleaning, repainting and electrical checks.

Hanging Bar Sign FAQs

What size should a pub or bar hanging sign be?

Most hanging bar signs are between 600 x 800 mm and 800 x 1000 mm. However, the right size depends on the width of the street, the height of the mounting, and how visible you want the sign to be. We’ll recommend the best size after a site survey.

For traditional pubs, timber panels with painted or gold leaf lettering give an authentic look. For modern bars or busy high streets, aluminium or composite (ACM) panels are often better as they’re durable, low-maintenance, and weather-resistant.
